Biofuels can be home-grown, with many different sources in different states.

In 2005, more than 11 billion bushels of corn were harvested in the U.S. In fact, 18 states are leaders in corn production. In Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin more than 100 million bushels were harvested. But biofuels can be produced from a wide range of substances.
